China Fast Figure: Cloth Output is Down

Gloria Van Rees

Cloth output YoY growth is down and in some areas decreased by alarming amounts. Chemical fiber, i.e. polyester and the like, decreased 37%. Blended cotton decreased the least amount seeing a YoY decrease of -9%. Cotton decreased percent change -21%. It is worth point out the difference between cloth and fabric. Cloth is fabric used for garments, and as a result generally have a different production standard. All cloth is fabric, but not all fabric is cloth. The downturn in chemical fiber output could have significant impacts on the garment outputs, particularly during a trade war.

Lately I buy a lot of things from chinese online stores. Turned out that you can get some items for dirt cheap and I really like this fact. My first order was messed up because I was stupid enough to fill in a zip code from the place where I rented a flat before but after that things are going well. Wonder why I didn't use WorldPostalCode zip code finder.
