Chinese Fast Figure: Weekly Swine Prices

Swine Flu outbreaks threaten China's large pork industry.

New cases of African Swine Flu reported in China. An initial outbreak in August was dealt with, but a new outbreak is triggering fears of a continued problems for the world’s largest pork producer. Weekly swine prices are relatively stable, if not slightly up. The outbreak has not driven prices higher on a potentially smaller supply. Since the outbreak was reported in August the prices have not decreased, but we believe the market is operating under a lot a pressure.
