Investor Credit Account Growth in China

Investor credit accounts are a mixed bag with a stark difference between institutional account and all others.

We recently looked at fixed asset investments, to that end we wanted to explore the number of investor accounts in China and potential growth areas in that sector. New accounts decreased to -26%. New institutional accounts increased 8%. However, closed accounts decreased to -15%, while closed institutional accounts increased to 97%. This tells us that fewer accounts overall are being opened, but the accounts are being held onto. On the institutional side the small growth in accounts is not being balanced by the number of institutional accounts closing.
