At one time, Birdman and Lil Wayne seemed like true partners in crime, rapping together and doing business together. However, the relationship between the Cash Money CEO and his one-time protégé has gone sour, and Power 105.1 reports that Birdman has taken the opportunity to kick Lil Wayne while he’s down via social media.
On November 17th, Birdman posted a picture of an expensive Louis Vuitton toilet. The caption for the post read: "I'm buyin this b**ch got to have it asap 10 bathrooms I kan s**t all day #tunechi #originalCMB." According to Vogue, this toilet is a custom work by IIma Gore, and carries a price tag of $100,000. What does a fancy toilet have to do with Lil Wayne? Well, some are saying that the post is taking a shot at the rapper’s money issues. Those who have followed the industry know that Lil Wayne has been accusing Birdman of holding back tens of millions of dollars from him, throughout his career.
"Wayne's lawyer, Howard King, filed docs saying the Cash Money honcho and Universal backdated a deal to make it look like it was signed BEFORE Young Money's deal ran out."
The outlet continued: "In docs obtained by TMZ, Wayne's camp says Universal knew that backdating the deals would screw Lil Wayne out of profits from Young Money and the artists signed under his label."
Wayne has decided to take drastic measures to try and get his financial dues. Wayne filed documents last month that said that he would end his Young Money Records label -- which is under Cash Money Records and Universal -- if things don't get worked out with Birdman, in regards to their financial spat.
However, Birdman hasn’t been shy about calling out people who feel that he owes his former protégé some sort of restitution. In an Instagram Live appearance, he said, “I be hearing all you n****s talking about this Lil Wayne s***. Lil Wayne this, Lil Wayne that. B**ch, Lil Wayne my son. I raised him. He ain’t have nothing. I brought him to be something and got something. B****, you don’t think I’m gonna make sure he straight? Suck a n***a d**k, b**ch. I'ma show all you p**** a*s n***** that ever got in my business.”
Clearly, this isn’t going to have a happy ending for anyone involved.
