MSNBC correspondent Joy Reid has put President-Elect Donald Trump on the spotlight over his nominations for various administrative positions. Considering those positions, she said Trump is already doing injustice to White Working class.
Asked why she made the statement, she said there is a good number of whites who voted for Trump on the basis that he was going to champion the well fair of white working class; the blue collar workers. However, she says that’s not what the president-elect is doing. There was also a widely held belief by some of his voters that he was going to be tough on the economic elite so that the lower level earners could also benefit.
Reid didn’t mince her words. She said Trump’s statements were nothing but a “scam.”
Why is she saying this? Reid pointed out that the decisions the president-elect has made ahead of his swearing in only reveals that he’s stocking his administration with top-tier earners; the top 0.1% of the American richest.
Reid criticized Trump’s choice of labor secretary, fast food CEO Andy Puzder, saying he’s someone vouching for the replacement of workers with robots because robots neither complain nor go on strike.
Reid weighed in on Trump on Saturday after the president-elect did a tweet, saying he won’t have anything to do with the “Celebrity Apprentice” Show when it returns in January.
“I have NOTHING to do with The Apprentice except for fact that I conceived it with Mark B & have a big stake in it. Will devote ZERO TIME!” he tweeted.
In a follow up tweet on the issue, the president-elect said, “Reports by @CNN that I will be working on The Apprentice during my Presidency, even part time, are ridiculous & untrue – FAKE NEWS!”
Responding to Trump’s tweets, Reid said they “should not be read as actual news.”
“Donald Trump saying that means absolutely nothing. His tweets should not be read as actual news, they are just things he tweets in the morning,” Reid stated on “AM Joy.”
Reid even said it’s saddening that Trump has nominated a secretary who made money taking away people’s homes.
For the white voters, Reid has a point for you: You’ve been duped!
