As usual, another heartbreaking distraction concocted and produced by "the media". It was an absolute ambush, hands down and then Umar gets chastised by Daddy Roland for saying "coon". Such a ridiculous waste of airtime.

I have love for Roland, and Much admiration, love and respect for Dr Umar Johnson, a BLACK MAN with intelligence, courage and a firey spirit for the truth of white supremacy and its legacy that is hurting black people today. We are still using slavery words, division of black people, light skin vs dark skin, to this very day. The panelist must of been "MOORS" (the blacks who captured and sold slaves). The panelist knows white women marry RICH black men mostly and take the wealth back to the white families (Tiger Woods, his wife did not remarry a black man). Generational wealth is created with a strong black family unit to back you and support you. Black women have fewer black men to marry, especially when we are called bitches and hoes on the radio and tv, white men are not allowing you to call their mothers, daughter, sister bitches or hoes. So the REAL COON PANEL go sit down. And Roland you could of found better panelist than opportunist blacks who are not in the same type of kitchen Dr Umar is in. And what are they cooking up to help blacks see the truth and do something.

I just watched the video and this was a set-up. Dr. Johnson made two of the panelists look woefully ignorant and out of control. I do not know enough about Dr. Johnson or his views to express my opinion about him but it appears to me that he is intelligent and I hope he uses his intelligence for the good of black Africans.

I don't think they are friends

Understatement Alert!

I for sure think he was ambushed @BoyceWatkins. The panel came out gunning for him from the beginning and I saw exactly what you meant by knowing what Roland Martin's carefully selected arch-types were going to say before they said it. You could even predict the lisp the guy that played the Republican would have. It was like an episode of Springer for racial politics and Dr Umar got sucked into playing a part in the show.

BoyceWatkins

@lloyd - You really think so? I wasn't sure when I watched the interview, but I don't think they are friends

Wow @LT1020 - this isn't surprising, but I'm glad you were able to share the truth

Yet, strictly based on this interview he did extremely well!

I support Dr.Umar the only issue I have personally is the use of profane language on Youtube but the knowledge is beneficial...

It doesn't matter what year it is. The reason for the marriage with racial boundaries is for economic growth and sustainability and sustenance. Dr. Boyce Watkins as well as others teach about economic wealth and Dr. Umar Johnson takes it a bit further to let us know how dire the threat is to the black community. The black community is broken, it is progressing, but broken. When we heal as a whole and come together to ensure a brighter future for our generations of a people who come from us (caring about yourself and what you come from) We can then possibly focus on other people and falling in love with them. Economics is the life pool that water that revitalizes and gives birth to nations. If your pool dries up many are left thirsty and poor and weak. Only the strong will find its way to a new source of water. Jay1148, your comments and others who make comments such as yours are more likely the reason black people are in the condition they are. This isn't mean to deplore your opinion or voice -because I stated that I'm letting you know that I care about all, but I care about me and mine more. I can still love my people, but how can I love my people if I don't love me. I came from those people. Through everything and all that our black, African people came from and yet the generations of those people carried you and I to this time and date. I wouldn't want to be among people that once hated and killed me. The residue and debris from that time is everywhere. No one wants to clean it up. It is so humongous that everyone looks past it. However it still is there where we go, still with us. The danger of that legacy is that it still exists. It isn't a legacy. Until the people who caused it and perpetuate it daily change their minds or die (all of them) there is nothing we can do but what we've done to make living in today possible. We are broken because we have to help ourselves, we need everyone's participation (or most of us) to get to a point where it is comfortable to survive. Some are ignorant. If you see just what is on the surface of this problem and try to deal with it without looking back to know how we got here you may not be able to fix it. If you know what you're dealing with and take it from the cue of disaster and naturally tread lightly you'd be less likely to fall into traps that got us hurt in the beginning and throughout all of this mess that we call life.

Dr Umar you gave black people a bad name.

Jay1148

Black Black you have a 97% chance of getting killed by a black man from another black then any other race. My city had 110 killing last year and all of them were by the hands of another black man.

Jay1148
Jay1148

I think it poeple like Dr Umar is the resason why black people are still stuck in the stone age. This is a man with 6 Degrees would say the things he just said. Its 2017 people should be able to love and Marry whoever they want . Dr Umar you need to go sit your ass down. People like you make me sick to my Stomach .

LaComodin

I think he wanted Dr. Umar to prove his point and prove he knows what he is speakingon. Its called "grilling". A tactic where people "ambush" you, high pressure, to see if You can and will answer the questions in a fast organized manner and to see if Your story will change

Quincy1

This was an ambush if I ever saw one. The overall posture of this panel was very negative and aggressive, but I think Dr. Umar held his ground very well which is the reason most ppl think he has an ego problem, hell we all have egos but when you know what you know then why the hell would you allow someone move you in the other direction? Next, he should not have given his credentials without first hearing everyone else on the panel, period! Then we all would have seen that he has more education than anyone else in the room, which would allowed us to turn this fact checking shit back on them....I lost some respect from Roland because it was clear that he was speaking in the air but his posturing was directed towards Dr. Johnson, name calling is name calling. And his kinship to Fredrick Douglas is just nonsense in itself not to mention the letter from the family, that was just intended to give Roland and crew ammunition against him, either this man his related to him or he's not and think he did a good job of breaking the family tree down, which brings me back to the "other" family of Fredrick Douglas.... They should have been smart enough to just stay out this;what they are doing does nothing (positive) for the black community, because family is family whether you like it or not, you can't get rid of them...for all we know they could be jealous because he is doing more than they are and actually making a living from it all, and "they" the " decedents" can't seem to do nothing, cause family don't usually fight over some this stupid and easy to prove like relations...

✍️MAN DON'T BE SURPRISED BY THIS 2X2 OF A mAN! This puppet adder got a pass because he aligned himself to the democratic party; but, really, would you hang out with this underactive thyroid? Rolaids speaks to the obvious issues with false passion and a scripted narrative. Look how he treated our Brother Dr. Umar Johnson! Rolaids tried to Malcolm X him in public with those of his own skin tone. Now if Rolaids sees "You" on the street; well. . . your Brother he's not! He's too short to assist on being highly arrogant and becomes angry if one doesn't cow tow to him. Roland, aka Rolaids, aka Baby Hulk; manners are as bad as his hairline. He believes himself to be enshrined on the same plateau as other historic greats. Why? The only way Rolaids can be elevated in our culture is if John Deer collaborates with Christian Louboutin, and invent a hydraulic high heel for wear. It has to be very strong, reinforced with 10 gauge steel to lift his obese buns to happiness.👀

staywoke
staywoke

It looked like an ambush. Those on the panel were yelling and calling him names without a care. Roland had to hush them just so Umar could redpond. Beforehand they were ready to attack him. How can you converse if you keep asking him questions without letting him respond? I agree with Umar on most of what he said. Why not promote unity amongst our own people?

Bryanda
Bryanda

The lady panelist was extremely annoying and you can tell that she is not in the mix with mainstream black culture and issues. I think Umar handled the debate very well especially when he said "according to who" to the third panelist. The first panelist was all the way "woke" and aware of what Umar was communicating in reference to the black man's struggle. One of the most interesting points he made was when he notes that taking another person's queen/equal means that you're aligning yourself with that identifier's male counterpart. All we're discussing is biology, and if American history didn't play out like it did, then there wouldn't be a need for radical views such as his. I think that love is love especially when you remove society from the mix, but I understand his desire for a revolution in the black family. Makes sense.

Love for self grows, love outside of that changes. Love is not a legal factor that officiates nor does it determine, nor govern the overall well-being of our people. Marriage however is a legal binding contract, even with pre-nuptial agreement we can still find ourselves as a whole torn and left bleeding, wounded if one of those interracial relationships go south. Yes the same could happen if a non-interracial relationship fell to its knees, but with the help of people of the community with spirits of kinship and love for oneself we would lift those fallen and support them as ourselves. We already know that as a whole, the other communities of ethnic or religious beliefs or other cultural backgrounds look down upon our people so why would they now (in never in history) would they assist us or lift us from our knees? We depend on ourselves, so family it is.

LydiBee

I definitely agree with Dr. Umar Johnson. People don't seem to wanna talk about when Black men start growing their capital, you have this like (PROGRAMED MANAGEMENT TEAM) That seems to push WHITE WOMAN on the place successfully BLACK MEN are by the SHIPS, TRAINS, BOATS & CRATE LOAD. And if these successfully men aren't SKILLED in playing DODGE BALL!! They will be hit & stuck with these under cover mail order bride the MANAGEMENT TEAM THROWN at them!

PeoplesEmpowerment
PeoplesEmpowerment

I feel it was an ambush. Every person on the panel knew his position on every subject and question which was asked. Roland was respectful, but his panel started to aggravate the subject of. The basis of this barage of arguments was settled on his position in opposition of interracial marriage. I agree with Dr. Umar Johnson, the marriages between interracial couples is only an issue in my opinion because of the black family. Our families are our communities. Marriage is not an institution in which only love is a subject. Fincancial dilemma in the black community is a HUGE problem. We cannot improve our disparity of wealth unless we build trust and respect from others in our community. I do believe that even if we 'love everyone else' we can move forward, but there is a great amount of distrust already in the black community. We have to trust and love ourselves before we let anyone else in. I'm not saying interracial relationships should not exist in the black community, I'm saying that our first love has to be ourselves. Our relationship with the world in general is a very complex one. When we love ourselves we can then begin to focus on what exists outside of our community, even being guarded with whom we love.

IT WAS AND AMBUSH! AND IT WAS HOSTILE! The Gay guy shouted out LIAR with his disrespectful self.AND if anyone's was lying it was the 2 gays that should know THE CIVAL RIGHT BILL put Gays & women over the black race. I do feel like they tried to ambush him, but he handled the situation well. i actually enjoyed this interview of Dr. johnson. i dont agree with everything he said but i do feel he has a point.

@thaii - You don't think it was an ambush? What would an ambush look like to you?

thaii

I don't think he was ambushed. After watching the breakfast club interview, they did what was right to call him out on the issues he was speaking about. I think he handled himself well, never been a big fan of him , but he kept his cool.

@Nunu8199 - The problem is that Umar Johnson's "I"m melanated bitch" rant took place just 3 months ago LOL

@David-Miller - You're right. It's hard to figure out what Umar is doing vs what he's saying. I also don't understand why he wants to even go on this show.

In truth, every individual is entitled to their own opinion, im just unsure as to what Umar is trying to accomplish by tackling these "issues", while there are indeed more pressing matters at hand.

of course he did. That was the plan.

BoyceWatkins

I must confess, I didn't like this interview. It seems that there is a segment of the black community that wants to see independent black people disappear

SiStarsEvolve
SiStarsEvolve

I'm sorry but i can't respect someone who clearly had no respect for melanin. I just see a tainted spirit trying to make himself relevant by trying to make up lineage to someone he doesn't respect. He contradicted himself more than once. I'm related to Mahalia Jackson because her 2nd time cousin may have slept with my 3rd time grand father because he used to play the trumpet for her but it's no proof. Man get out of here.

StJamesIII
StJamesIII

I really don't buy into the narrative of an ambush. If you're on sound ground with your stances, your facts and what you're about then 50 people in front of you aren't gonna make a difference. You will be able to handle yourself in a dignified mature way and give concise answers that make sense. Far as i'm concerned neither side handled the discussion particularly well at all. All i saw was a whole lot of posturing, ego and vanity driven dialogue from BOTH sides. I don't know why it has to be folks taking up sides like common gangsters in the street anyway when it comes to discussing things. Far as i'm concerned Umar is a shady individual but i'm open to change my mind about anyone if they show me something. Sorry but Umar is all ego and vanity. You can spout some facts that are actually facts and i'll concede to the facts but a lot of that stuff the man spouts is opinion and rhetoric more than facts. The panel was just as bad. So that whole show was a waste of time and nobody gets props in my eyes that appeared on that show far as i'm concerned.

Nunu8199
Nunu8199

A few things, one, I think Dr Johnson handled himself quite well and I've noticed over the years he's becoming more and more mature, but that's to be expected from an adult. That's what happens to most of us if we really are trying to live a life of importance. Two, other thing is the only panelist that was in agreement was a A. Scott Bolden the attorneyhe agreed with what he was saying he just didn't like the style of how he was projecting the truth he even brought up his mom when he was a young boy of what she had said the other thing is Roland was wrong in nut including calling someone a liar especially on a black show that is globally seen calling people racial names it's one thing but they called someone a liar should have been included in his prerequisite or his rules for being on the show we cannot and should not stoop so low when we disagree with someone to call them names if we if Eugene had an issue with dr. Johnson he should as an adult privately spoke to dr. Johnson he was wrong for doing it and rolling was wrong for not including that is part of the rules to being on the show it saddens me also that Lauren was as Omar stated protecting them when Omar was saying to her your black queen black man should be with you and she wanted to fight against that so that tells you where her spirit is the same thing was Eugene where his spirit is and was rolling if there were more black news outlets on the same level a little higher maybe then news one now I would write to roll into say I will no longer listen to you until I see you become more Pro black instead of party affiliated brought me pain 2C black people on Global TV attack another black person Shane Shame Shame

FactCheckerInKy
FactCheckerInKy

I don't think he was ambushed. After watching it on TV and seeing the YouTube video I believe that they fact-checked his interview with The Breakfast Club as I did after I seeing his Breakfast Club interview. Now is not the time to put false hope or fool people to believe in or to follow you. Now is the time to speak the truth because people need to know the truth.

Darealiss1

I totally think he was ambushed! But i also think he handled himself well! Its just a shame that you have a sister up there that probably cant see past Umars reputation enough, to understand where he's coming from! Its so sad! I might not agree with everything he does, but the truth is the truth! But lets face it...BROTHERS LOOOOOVE WHITE WOMEN!!!! Its beyond ridiculous!!
