Author Says Black Men Will Spend on Silly Toys, but Not Make Real Investments

One such message is the one that was broadcast by the internet channel “The Black Authority” (TBA) which talks about issues facing the African American community, challenges that we have to overcome and what we need to do in order to nurture a better future.

One video, “Black Men – Too Broke for Business but Never too broke for Toys“, tells of how black men can always find an excuse when they are asked to invest money in their futures.

“Black men will come to me and say want to build a business, at the end of the day, it is just talk if you don’t bring resources,” The Black Authority says.

And then, when asked how much money they have and how much they are willing to spare and invest in their dreams it “typically ends the same way every time”: “Oh, I’m trying to get my money together … money is tight right now…”

The video goes on to make us face the truth: Some black men are, quite simply, weak and pathetic. Many men do not put down money for what they claim they believe in, but are always willing to put money to the side for expensive consumer items, fancy clothes or money on electronic equipment. At the end of the day, it’s all about priorities.

“The rest of the world can see this,” TBA says,” and that is why no one takes the Black man seriously!”

Although the video is sure to touch some raw nerves, there is no denying that there is a lesson that we can all learn. All it takes is an honest look inwards and the seeking of the part of the message that we have been avoiding.

very interesting read! It just depends on the type of man. I know men who buy silly toys and make real investments. I wonder what can be done to change this mentality.

Well... boys will be boys... it's not just black men but all men.
