Ed Hartwell Got More Problems On His Hands Other Than Divorcing Keshia Knight-Pulliam

Many people may have thought that the recent announcement of Ed Hartwell’s divorce from Keshia Knight-Pulliam was the only notable challenge he’s currently facing.

However, according to court documents obtained by BOSSIP, Hartwell is facing another serious problem. The papers show that the Ohio State Department of Taxation earlier this year slapped the 38-year-old former pro football athlete with a tax lien to the tune of $62,239. His certificate of judgment issued back in March this year states that the said lien is in relation to his personal income tax. Earlier on, the state had filed another lien against Hartwell for $7,136 over failure to pay school district taxes.

According to the documents, Hartwell had been given 60 days to have his tax debt cleared, but he failed to. This prompted the state Attorney General’s office to initiate collection proceedings.

The former star could be facing some serious cash flow challenges in spite of the fact that he previously sealed a $26 million four-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

That doesn’t wrap up the financial problems the one-time “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star is experiencing.

In 2014, the IRS demanded a tax lien to the tune of $355,488 from the star, which was in relation to his 2007 to 2009 federal taxes. And, according to court documents, the star hasn’t paid that either, which means his estate is set to face serious challenges.

Early last week, news came out that the former star had filed for divorce from his pregnant wife, citing irreconcilable differences.

Their marriage came tumbling just seven months after they tied the knot following a four-month courtship. During an interview with Page Six, Knight Pulliam cried as she talked about her crushing marriage. She was very angry with the fact that her husband demanded a paternity test for the baby she’s carrying.

“I have never cheated on [Hartwell] during my marriage,” Pulliam said. “That’s not who I am.”

In a later interview with Page Six, Hartwell dismissed his wife’s side of the story, saying it wasn’t entirely truthful.

“She would tell a half truth to make sure she seems like she’s…I don’t want to say a victim, but like she’s the one that’s right,” Hartwell said. “My thing is I’m going to tell my wrong, I’m going to tell the whole truth.”

The former linebacker says his wife wanted a baby real fast, yet according to him, it wasn’t the right thing since they didn’t have a long courtship and thus needed some time to focus on each other before having a baby.
