The Minnesota Vikings’ loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13 knocked them out of a tie for first place with Green Bay in the NFC North. They can’t another loss when they take on the Detroit Lions on Sunday (10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, FOX, DirecTV) in a Week 14 game.

The Vikings’ 37-30 loss to the Seahawks dropped their record to 0-3 against teams with a winning record this season. Fortunately for them, the Lions don’t have a winning record. Minnesota (8-4) quarterback Kirk Cousins is having a career year and he has been helped by the emergence of running back Dalvin Cook, who has rushed for 1,046 yards and 12 touchdowns, both career-highs. Cook suffered a shoulder injury against Seattle, but says he’ll be ready on Sunday. The news isn’t so good for wide receiver Adam Thielen. Thielen reportedly suffered a setback with his hamstring injury and isn’t expected to play.

The Lions (3-8-1) lost 24-20 to the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, their fifth consecutive loss. However, third-string rookie quarterback David Blough gave Lions’ fans a reason to cheer. Blough, in his first NFL start, threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns in the game. With Matthew Stafford expected to miss his fifth straight game, Blough will start against the Vikings.
