One of my goals since becoming a Maven is to give readers a regular view into my own portfolio’s management. I’ve always written about my individual trades but I haven’t put as much focus into regular portfolio updates. After reading these focus ticker pieces, readers oftentimes ask me about my overall holdings, so moving forward my plan is to put together monthly portfolio-wide updates rather than the usually annual re-caps.

To get things started, here’s a graph showing my holdings as of Dec. 31st, 2017. Due to privacy concerns (my wife and I simply don’t feel comfortable sharing out personal wealth figures on public forums), the share counts/dollar amounts are removed from the public graphs, but the percentages are accurate as far as asset allocation goes.

These monthly updates will shed light onto my thought process as far as portfolio management goes. Overtime, they will allow me (and my readers) to better analyze my changing sentiment within the markets as far as sector/industry and cash weightings go.

My plan is to include monthly income stream updates in these pieces as well, creating a one stop shop for readers interested in my portfolio’s progress. However, for this first piece, I will not include my 2017 totals for income because I’m planning on posting that as an individual piece, similar to this one.

These pieces won’t be particularly enlightening from a new idea standpoint, but I know readers enjoy knowing that contributors have “skin in the game” so these regular portfolio updates will give my followers at themaven a pretty good idea of what I’m holding at any given point in time. And, for those of you who aren't interested in waiting for monthly updates, it’s also worth noting that I plan on posting all of my trades in the conversation bar of the portfolio management column on my Maven channel in real time.

So, without further adieu, here are my holdings as of Dec. 31st
