Democrat Kyrsten Sinema Wins Arizona Senate Race

After tight contest, three-term House member becomes state’s first Democrat to win Senate in 30 years.

The Arizona Senate Race is Over: Democrat Kyrsten Sinema Wins.

  • The Associated Press on Monday declared Ms. Sinema the winner over Republican Rep. Martha McSally following a tight race that took about a week to produce a winner.
  • Ms. Sinema, 42 years old, campaigned as a conservative Democrat after beginning her political career as a firebrand liberal employed by Ralph Nader’s 2000 Green Party presidential campaign.
  • She will become the first openly bisexual member of the U.S. Senate when she takes office in January. When she was first elected to Congress in 2012, she was the first member to list her religion as “none.”

I am convinced Sinema won fair and square. I have no such convictions about Florida where fraud, corruption, and ineptitude seem rampant.

Her sexual or religious preferences do not matter one bit to me.

If she truly is a fiscal conservative, she will be better than the fake conservative warmongering hypocrite Republicans like Senator McCain.

We will find out.

Maricopa county went for Sinema. A repudiation of Arpaio and Trump?

Right wing using impressionable stooges like Mish Shedlock to parrot inflammatory, unsubstantiated fraud claims. There are "0" credible claims of ANY fraud whatsoever.

She is a wannabe career politician. The odds are against her.

As a non-voter residing in Maricopa County, AZ, I knew nothing about McSally nor Sinema. Neither could be worse than McCain, partly because neither has a national following. However, it is Jeff Flake whom Sinema is replacing. McCain has been (or will be) replaced by former Senator Jon Kyl.

Jeff Flake was my representative before winning his Senate seat. He was very good on Federal spending and other issues. But when he got the Senate, he chained himself to McCain so now they're both dead, one politically, the other literally.

Republicans (And Mish Shedlock, Republican patsy) fan unfounded worries about voter fraud in Florida and other close contests

Based on Kyrsten Sinema winning in Arizona I have to say that I agree with one previous Kyrsten Sinema statement:

Arizona really is the meth lab of American politics.

If Sinema replaces Flake -- surely that counts as the Democrats retaining the seat?

Mish,

So how does this work exactly...?

I am a firebrand liberal for open borders, bigger government, bigger welfare payments, socialized medicine, health care for all, more and more government, etc., etc., etc.

But, wait, I am a fiscal conservative too!

Yeah - you can't be both.

fraud or incompetence ? It's a fine line BUT counting votes after the statutory cutoff time invites gerrymandering .

"... campaigned as a conservative Democrat ..." That's called camouflage. Ask Alinsky. In the Veritas video, her staffers said she has what amounts to a Five Year Plan; in 2022 she'll be running on abolishing the 1st and 2nd Amendments, and probably the 3rd, 4th & 5th, because the equatorial 3rd world Invaders - errr - friendly immigrants - won't need any of that stuff for their cultural enrichment and low trust "Saguaro Republic".

Similarly, we had a democrat voted govenor voted in Kansas. Brownback left such a bad name for republicans that even most of the diehard republicans out here in rural areas, including farmers, couldn't fathom putting in his replacement and jumped party lines. Now they are complaining that Trump hired Brownback. At this rate, the 2020 election will be titled "give it to HIllary why dont you".

How many kids of illegal immigrants who got birthright citizenship and have turned 18 and vote there are in Arizona?

I am guessing hundreds of thousands.

All states with large numbers of illegal immigrants will go the way of California and now Arizona unless birthright citizenship is stopped.

Speaking as a resident and voter in southern AZ (and formerly Chicago) the race in AZ was in-your-face stolen, Chicago style..First, the democratic officials don't count any votes for a day or two, then they round up a bunch of provisional votes from illegal aliens, or teenagers, or no one, and see if the Republicans do anything about it. If not, they declare victory...Ducie won the Governor's race against a hispanic opponent by 17%, but McSally, right next to him on the ticket, lost???? Get real, Mish.

Sinema called her own State the "meth lab of politics" because it wasn't leftist enough for her...But you think she's a conservative Democrat?

Sinema comes across as completely fake, a true politician who will say anything to be elected. The sliminess oozes from her.

That said, McSally was a total MIC whore. The people of AZ were going to lose either way, and for some reason have a history of choosing poor candidates, even by modern American standards.

Heritage Americans (i.e., those who were born in the USA before 1965 or whose parents were citizens prior to that) have no party.

The Dems are the party of Resource Extraction (affirmative action, welfare--both corporate and couch-sitter on behalf of increasingly useless eaters, so they're increasingly the Get Whitey party) and the party of disenfranchising Heritage Americans by diluting them to irrelevance by Third World Immigration.

The Republicans are simply the Dem-Lite party, going to hell in a handbasket just a bit slower (please.)

None of this kabuki theater will matter until the markets tank. THEN it will matter.. Bigly. The USA is one debt-volcano eruption from a French Revolution (and following Terror.)
