US officials have warned China that Donald Trump will not engage in trade talks with Xi Jinping at next month’s G20 summit if Beijing does not produce a detailed list of concessions, according to three people briefed on negotiations between the countries.
Supposedly China has such a list but it first wants guarantees of a "stable political climate".
- Trump: If you won't let me pitch, I will take my ball and bat and go home
- China: I'll show you mine if you show me yours
What's with this "stable political climate" demand? That's not going to happen.
Meanwhile, please note that the G20 never accomplishes anything.
Thus, even if the conversations were something higher than first-grade caliper, they would be meaningless.
