What do you tell grandparents that like to buy the kids toys every single time they visit? They see them about once a month.

Taylor, it's really frustrating when Mom and Dad intervene and give their grandkids gifts, then complain that you are spoiling the kids. Ask them to give the kids little chore to do to save for gifts and then if that doesn't work, have them ASK Neale what to do!

Explain to the grandparents that you are trying to teach them financial responsibility and you would like their help.

You could show them one of my first books, "Money Doesn't Grow On Trees: A Parent's Guide to Raising Financially Responsible Children:" But let's get real: grandparents will be grandparents. If that’s the case, explain to your kids that they still have to do chores and that "our rules” are different than grandma’s, and they’ll understand.
