How To Get Notified By Email When I Post On The Site

Here's how to get emailed when I post something on the site:

You'll learn that there are actually several ways to receive emails:

  • To be notified of ONLY the Premium content on the site like the Monthly newsletters and Weekly videos
  • A way to view all stories/articles/videos that I post on the site
  • A way to follow only when I post
  • The way to completely turn off email notifications (which I don't recommend)
  • Also, I discuss the best ways to contact me and ask me a question...the quickest and the worst/slowest ways and why.

But you'll see...the control is up to you as to how much you get notified about what's going on at the site. EVERYONE (new subscribers and long-time ones) should view this video.

God bless!

FYI, if you don't see "Turn on Notification" listed after selecting the hamburger icon, then click the down arrow:

Yep, good point to add.

Hmmm, not sure this is the best way to implement it but one thing I miss about the old portfolio is the "trade alert" emails. Maybe a section could be added that "only" you can post to for trade alerts specifically. Then we all could set our notifications for that section. ???

Sean. I purchase G E at 17.82. Because Morningstar stated it was undervalued and it has dropped to <8.00. Would you recommend to sell and absorb my lost, average down, hold?

Sean I have all notification on for months and I receive no email notifications. Can you help?

Sean, I am no longer receiving any emails either. My last one from you was dated April 12. It used to be that my inbox was flooded with conversations back and forth from everyone, but now - nothing. I have checked all the settings, everything is turned on, but no emails. I am at a loss. I would appreciate any information you can give me, as well.

As a side note, just know that most every day, I'm posting some thoughts. So if you're not getting something practically daily...you know it's a sign that something's not working right.

Here’s what I got back from the publisher:

Hi Sean,

@cableking opted out of email in their user profile. They'll have to make sure the "On" box is checked next to Email Notifications.

@sherry001 changed the frequency of email notifications to receive them "every hour". There's a bug with this feature so this user needs to turn this back to "immediately". This can only be done in the app. If they need guidance on how to do this, let us know

Thank you for the update; however, I am still confused. It almost looks like the Room Settings are overriding the other settings on the phone.

In the notification settings I have the following on my phone:

  1. Channel Mobile & Email Notifications is set to "Always". I remember changing this to every hour and then changing it back to always after a few days when I realized I had not been receiving anything.

  2. Temporary Pause Notifications (Snooze) is off.

  3. Channel DM is on.

  4. Room Settings are not working. All three - Ask Sean, Premium Newsletters, and Fundamentals/News/Charts - are stuck on "Nothing". I can slide the buttons across to "Everything" and it looks good, but there is no place to save the settings. As soon as I "X-out" of this page, they all revert to "Nothing". I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app several times over the past two weeks, but nothing changes.

Yes, if someone can give me guidance and walk me through it, I would certainly appreciate it!

Since that’s out of my league, I’ve forwarded that back to the publisher. Personally, I just use the web browser on my smartphone to access the site and on my laptop. The app seems to have too many hiccups.

Login to www.seanhyman.com from a browser on your smartphone and see if it lets you change it, instead of going through the app.

Thanks for the suggestion and I appreciate your help. I tried it, but the site looks just the same on the iphone as it does on the laptop. In other words, everything seems to be turned on to receive all emails as far as I can tell.

Ok. Well, let’s see what the publisher suggests.

From the publisher: It sounds like there's a bug affecting their installation of the app so that the sliders either aren't responding or the changes aren't saved automatically as expected. This isn't happening for me in the current version of the app so I'd advise them to update the app if there's an update available and if not to uninstall/reinstall it to try to clear out whatever is causing the problem. Also note that the settings are for the entire app (all channels) and not on a per-channel basis, as it seems that there may be some confusion about the scope of the changes.
