David Dollar from the Brookings Institute makes some interesting points on China's development aid. He estimates that China aide is about $40bn per year not only reaching Belt and Road countries, but also Latin America. (We think these numbers are overestimated considering the headline number is typically much larger than the amount spent). He also talks about the problems that might arise if China keeps giving money to heavily indebted countries. https://www.brookings.edu/research/is-chinas-development-finance-a-challenge-to-the-international-order/?utm_source=Contextly&utm_medium=ChannelEmail&utm_campaign=China&utm_content=Notification
